Description: The primary purpose of Vincent Pizzuto’s book, Contemplating Christ is to offer readers an appreciation of the Christian scriptures, through the perspective of the Christian mystical tradition. He approaches this in a threefold way. Firstly by explore in new and surprising ways New Testament readings in the light of the Christian contemplative life. He then reflects on the uniqueness of Christian mysticism particularly as it comes to expression in the interrelated doctrines of Incarnation and Divination.

Finally, Pizzuto offers ways in which aspects of the contemplative life may be realised through contemplative practice. Drawing on his rich experience as an academic and priest, Pizzuto gradually unfolds the Christian mystery of deification to which the whole of biblical revelation and the Christian contemplative life are ordered: through the incarnation, we have all been made "other Christs" in the world.
