Dr Maryanne Confoy is professor of pastoral theology at the Jesuit Theological College and the United Faculty of Theology in Melbourne. Her latest book examines the historical context, the key players and the implementation of Vatican II documents on the priesthood, the training of priests, and the religious life. It presents a contemporary vision for, and critique of ecclesial ministries providing: an overview of the key issues related to each of the documents; an analysis of the issues related to ministry and ministering in today's church; a response to the direction being promoted by the Vatican, other academics and the ecclesial context; some critique of the past and hope for the future.
